Men Can Cook!

I’m not sure how this happened (maybe because we are all amazing, genius women), but we have all been blessed with partners who can cook! From preparing the day-to-day meals to exploring their own culinary artistry, they all do their part in the kitchen. Hello, twenty-first century!

Wynn is a hunter and and serious meat eater. He’s also a very serious cook. One of his best and most well known dishes is his BBQ pork. Most of our Alaskan friends have never had this amazing southern dish, so he makes a lot of friends when he cooks this for parties. (I don’t eat the stuff, but it smells good.)

My brother Chad (and Laura’s hubby) has teased my mom and I for years about women doing all the cooking and serving. I am one happy sister to know he’s been joking all these years (when is he not!?!). Not only is he a great cook, he does it every night.

Ben is the sleeper chef in the family. True to his style, there’s no bragging and not much fanfare. He just whips up an amazing meal and lets it speak for itself.

John is a great cook too! He’s in the food business, and his proximity to top chefs and the highest quality produce make it easy for him to make his way around the kitchen.

Here’s hoping your sweetie cooked a fantastic meal for you this Valentine’s day!

This one made me smile. The cycle has been broken in the Brandenburg heritage of men refusing to cook and I hope I influenced this a bit (except for homemade tacos which I will always make for two of the four guys). Manly men cook for their women and we love it.

  2. Ben loves to cook! And I am SO happy for that! He might complain sometimes but he enjoys it, and is very good at it too. Its amazing to me what he can whip up with whatever we have lying around the house. And that BBQ Pork looked amazing – and i hate pork! We are all very lucky gals
